This chart from the Energy Watch Group, a European organization, shows the utter disparity between the Peak Oil view and official projections by the International Energy Agency (in their World Energy Outlook reports of 2004 and 2006). You will note that WEO projections came down sharply in 2006 as against 2004. They will come down further in the 2008 report, but the gap between the official view and the pessimistic projections of EGW, Simmons, and others will still remain substantial.
